What the Wegovy label actually says
Wegovy (semaglutide) is injected once a week, subcutaneously — into the layer of fat under the skin rather than into muscle. The Instructions for Use give three areas: the upper leg (front of the thigh), the lower stomach, kept two inches clear of the belly button, and the back of the upper arm, which they mark as only with help from someone else. MedlinePlus lists the same three for semaglutide.
Why rotating matters
Alongside where, the instructions say to rotate injection sites with each dose. Skin that takes an injection in the same place week after week can develop lipohypertrophy — Cleveland Clinic describes it as a thickened, fatty lump under the surface. Rotating is the simple countermeasure both the label and the clinic point to, along with keeping consecutive injections about a finger width apart.
Is there an official rotation order?
No — the label asks for rotation without prescribing a sequence, and that gap is where most people lose the thread.
